Following the hugely successful development of the PDA used throughout Martindales, we have using the same technology developed and designed a bespoke Maintenance Pack to control all works carried out on all in house machinery.
When a fault or service is reported, it is recorded on PDA and the Information is sent electronically to our in house engineers. Maintenance dates are scheduled directly from our systems which are also available over the web. Once maintenance works are completed authorisation signatories are recorded. For all urgent jobs colour codes are operated which allow priority to be given to the most urgent at that particular time. A full history complete with notes is kept within the system making the servicing of machinery a much more controlled effort. Where parts are required, these are ordered directly through the system and the PDA is kept updated as to when parts are expected to arrive, this allows much smoother control when organising the Maintenance Teams diaries.
Paul Vernon Director at Martindales says ‘Repairing the machinery seems to be the easy part for the Maintenance Team and any failing seems to occur when the Team are out of their comfort zone with pen and paper and a neverending amount of paperwork to complete, this is just one other area which shows innovation and movement with technology in another aspect of our business’.
